The Nordic Welfare City of the 20th Century

 

The Aarhus City Archives and the Danish Centre for Urban History hereby announces the Open Call for the 2015 symposium. The symposium will take place in Aarhus at the City Archives and at Aarhus University, November 4–6, 2015.

 

The title of the symposium is THE NORDIC WELFARE CITY OF THE 20 th CENTURY

 

The symposium will have three strands:

·         Urban politics and governance.

·         Spatial construction and re-construction of cities.

·         Facilitating and disseminating urban history research.

 

Languagues:

Scandinavian and English.

 

Program selection

We encourage proposals to adapt a comparative Nordic perspective but local or national approaches are also welcome. The organizers will prioritize an even distribution of papers from all Nordic countries.

Proposals are sent to City Archivist, PhD Søren Bitsch Christensen sbch@aarhus.dk before March 1, 2015.
